Minimum Wages 2021

With the new year, there are new minimum wages for 2021. According to Labor and Industries, the new minimum wage is $13.69 for hourly employees.

Future Minimum Wage

Future minimum wage will be based on the federal Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W). On Sept. 30, they will announce the minimum wage for 2022.

Salaried Overtime Rules

While minimum wage rules apply to hourly employees, new minimum wages may apply to salaried employees as well. On January 1, 2021, salaried staff must make an annual salary of $42,712 if your business has 50 or fewer employees. That bumps up to $49,831 for larger businesses with 51 or more employees.
